Stars
Darkness envelops my body,
But not fear, tranquility.
Its embrace holds me at peace.
Amidst a trail that winds and weaves
Up the mountain’s lofty eaves,
I could hear only the crickets and
The breaths of close ones by my shoulders.
We squint our eyes,
We stare at the sky,
We try to capture twinkling starlight.
One makes a silent whoosh, a celestial sigh,
Its silver tail streaking a comet’s lullaby.
We know, though its fall looks nigh
In place and time, the descent comes from
One tale one million years ago from one distant sky.
